Lunch Rolls

  • 6 cups flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 oz fresh yeast
  • 1 1/3 cups warm water
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 stick margarine
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 egg, beaten, for wash
  • Mix water with yeast and 1 tsp sugar.
  • Allow to activate (bubble).
  • Combine remaining ingredients and add to yeast.
  • Mix well, until smooth dough is formed.
  • Set aside and allow to rise 1/2 hour.
  • Shape into egg sized balls of dough.
  • Place on lightly greased cookie sheet.
  • Let rise another 1/2 hour.
  • Preheat oven to 350*.
  • Brush rolls with egg for shine,
  • and bake 1/2 hour.
